Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan announces the Town's 2008 street sweeping schedule, which residents can access on the Town's website at www.townofislip-ny.gov. This fall, the Town continues its commitment to a sector-by-sector sweeping schedule. A map of the sector schedule is available on the Town's site and can be accessed via the Public Notice area on the left side of the home page. The current map shows the first round of sweeping in 2008. Additional sweep dates will occur later in the year.

To use the schedule map, click on this link and a pdf file will open in a separate window. Using your mouse and zoom function, zoom in on your neighborhood. To help locate your neighborhood on the map, look for major roads and landmarks such as open space, parkland and lakes. Once you find your neighborhood, it will be clearly marked with the date your streets will be swept.

In the event of extremes of weather that might prevent sweeping on a given day during the Spring schedule, the schedule will default to the next upcoming Friday. For further information, residents can access the Town's Web site or call the Department of Public Works at (631)224-5600.
